Surgery Block

The Surgery Block comprises six operating rooms equipped with appropriate devices:

  • Abdominal and Soft Tissue Surgery Room;
  • Chest Surgery Room;
  • Gynaecology Room;
  • Urology Room;
  • Head, Neck and Maxillofacial Surgery Room;
  • Acute and Purulent Surgery.

Approximately 6,500 surgeries are performed per year, including the following:

  • 980 – 1,000 laparotomies;
  • 25 – 30 hemihepatectomies and liver resections;
  • 130 – 150 laparoscopies;
  • 300 – 350 transurethral resections;
  • 30 – 40 head and maxillofacial reconstructive surgeries.

The personnel of the Surgery Block include 33 employees, 18 of which are nurses. The Surgery Block is managed by the Chief Nurse Tatjana Verhoustinska.
