Admission Department

The Admission Department accepts only non-emergency patients. A place in the units of the in-patient department and admission time are determined by the physicians of the out-patients’ departmentout-patients’ department of the In-patient Department “Latvian Oncology Centre”. The working hours of the Admission Department: on weekdays 7:00-19:00

Upon admission to the in-patient department or day patient facility, the following documents must be present:

  • passport;
  • general practitioner’s referral;
  • health insurance policy (if any);
  • certificate certifying exemption from the patients’ payment;
  • Certificate of a politically repressed person;
  • Certificate of a participant in the liquidation of the Chernobyl NPP accident consequences;
  • Certificate of I group disability;
  • Certificate of an employee of the Ministry of the Interior or Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Latvia;
  • Certificate of an employee of the Emergency Medical Assistance Service;
  • Statement issued by the social service of the local government that certifies the exemption from the patients’ payment;
  • Statement of a financially disadvantaged person.

Upon admission to the department, a patient must take all the medications prescribed by a general practitioner or specialists – for treating diabetes, asthma, and other concurrent diseases.

Upon admission to the in-patient department, every patient must fill in relevant documents, including a Medical Treatment Agreement. Please read carefully and sign the agreement! In case of any questions the employees of the Admission Department will gladly answer them.

In case of oncologic diseases, the patients’ payment per bed-day determined by the state is EUR 7.11. In case of non-oncologic diseases, the payment per bed-day is EUR 13.52.

Information regarding the cost of each examination or test is provided by the employees of the Admission Department.

Fee-based services are provided in the day-and-night or day patient facility according to the price-list approved by the hospital. Upon discharge from the day-and-night or day patient facility, the patient shall pay for the received services at the cash-desk of the In-patient Department “Latvian Oncology Centre” on the 1st floor according to the invoice issued and receive a cash-desk’s check. In case of insolvency, the chief nurse of the department will help with the Deferred Payment for a particular period of time.
