Palliative Care

Palliative care is active, comprehensive care of patients whose disease cannot be cured in a radical way. It comprises relieving of pain and other symptoms, appropriate solutions for social, psychological and mental problems. Palliative care is essentially inter-disciplinary attitude to the patient, his/her relatives and society. It offers care as a basic concept, ensuring patient’s needs regardless of his/her location, at home or in-patient department. Palliative care supports the value of life, accepting dying as a natural process. It neither accelerates, nor delays the death. It is to ensure the best quality of life possible up to the very moment of death.
